Lotus Emeya sports car on Geely platform unveiled

A new sports car from Lotus premiered in Guangzhou, as well as the only sedan developed in-house by the company. Unsurprisingly, this model was based on the Geely EPA platform, given that the Lotus brand is owned by Geely. Production of the novelty will be carried out at Geely’s Wuhan plant, and the sports car should appear on the European market a year later.
The Lotus Emeya sedan has impressive dimensions: its dimensions are 5139x2005x1464 mm, with a wheelbase length of 3069 mm. The car will feature two powertrains, but both variants will be all-wheel drive. The power output of the engines will be 612 and 905 horsepower, respectively. It is not unimportant that the sports car will support fast charging: in just 15 minutes the battery will be able to charge from 10% to 80%. The battery, manufactured by CATL, has a capacity of 102 kWh.
The Lotus Emeya will feature adaptive air suspension, as well as an active diffuser (which opens when speeds reach above 90 km/h) and a retractable anti-wing that generates 215 kilograms of downforce. Engineers placed the battery at the base of the car closer to its center and moved the front fascia forward to achieve a near-perfect weight distribution (approximately 50:50).
The Lotus Emeya’s interior features a narrow dashboard (the driver is expected to mostly use the 55-inch projection screen) and cameras as rearview mirrors. The media system has a large display of its own.

There is no exact cost of the novelty on the market yet, but the approximate price is about 137 thousand dollars (12.2 million rubles).
