Amazon plans to ditch Android in favor of its own Vega OS

Amazon is developing its own Vega operating system to replace Android on its devices. A separate team has been formed to develop the new OS since 2017. Recall that in September 2021, the company announced plans to move to a new app platform.

It should be noted that the new system has already been tested on Fire TVs. Vega OS-based Fire TVs could hit the market next year. It’s not yet clear whether Vega will be in Amazon’s Fire tablets, but integrating the new OS into the company’s ecosystem is a logical step.
