Xiaomi’s smart glasses can now pay for parking
Alibaba-owned Alipay has teamed up with Xiaomi to bring parking payments to Xiaomi’s smart glasses. Instead of scanning a QR code on their phone or opening an app at the exit, users can simply give a voice command to the glasses or glance at a parking payment code. After verifying security, the payment is processed automatically, letting drivers leave the parking lot without taking out their phone.
According to Alipay, the user flow is broken down into three simple steps. When you drive into the parking lot, the glasses’ built-in AI assistant announces that the parking fee has started. This ensures there’s no confusion about when the timer begins.
When it’s time to leave, users can say, “Xiao Ai, pay for parking.” The AI assistant then connects with the parking system and creates the payment automatically.
Finally, the assistant reads out the amount due, and the user confirms it verbally. The transaction wraps up seamlessly, all designed to be fully contactless—perfect for busy parking lots or when you’re in a rush to get going.

Alipay highlights that this feature is powered by Ant Group’s secure GPASS connection technology and the intelligent AHA solution. Together, they form what the company calls an “AI parking assistant for smart glasses.”
User identification relies on methods like voice recognition. Once the Alipay account is linked for the first time, payments can be confirmed without any extra steps.
The GPASS technology also supports multi-device interaction. If parking notifications are enabled in the Alipay mobile app, updates about entry, payment status, and exit can be delivered simultaneously as voice alerts through the smart glasses.
The company says the feature is already live across Alipay’s smart parking network in several cities, available in business districts, transport hubs, office towers, and tourist spots.
Beyond parking, Alipay has also integrated its AI health assistant Ant Afu into Xiaomi’s smart glasses. Users can select it from the “Recommended smart agents” section, link their account, and ask health-related questions while wearing the glasses.
Xiaomi introduced its first AI smart glasses in June last year. The device features a 12-megapixel first-person camera, supports the Xiao Ai assistant, and includes payment functions—like the ability to “pay with a glance.”
