Starfield has surpassed 230,000 concurrent users in the first two hours of play on Steam

Starfield racked up more than 230,000 concurrent players in its first two hours on Steam, despite the game being in Early Access. According to SteamDB, concurrent play peaked at 234,502 players on Sept. 1, just a couple hours after launch.

This is the sixth highest number of concurrent users on Steam in the last 24 hours, despite the game’s official release not happening until Sept. 6. Players who bought Starfield Premium Edition or Constellation Edition get up to five days of early access to the game, while everyone else has to wait for the official release date.

All other players have to wait for the official release date.

Critics have been mostly positive about the game: the Xbox Series X and PC versions currently have scores on Metacritic of 87 and 88, respectively.
