Vivo S50 Pro Mini: leaked specs

At the beginning of the year, Vivo introduced the S30 series, which included the Vivo S30 and the S30 Pro Mini. The latter was positioned as an affordable flagship for mobile photography in a compact body. Now, a leak has surfaced online with the key specs of the intended successor, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini.

According to insider Smart Pikachu, Vivo will skip the “40” index and launch the S50 series straight away – in Asia, the number “4” is considered unlucky.

According to the leak, the new smartphone will get a 6.3-inch flat display with an unusual aspect ratio, a Dimensity 9400 chipset, and a triple camera with periscopic TV. A prototype of the device features an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the screen.

The name of the model is still in question: it could be introduced as the Vivo S50 Pro Mini or just the Vivo S50. The reason is that the Vivo X200 Pro Mini previously had the same 6.3-inch screen, but this year’s X300 series is rumored to come without the Pro Mini version – the compact device will be the regular Vivo X300. So Vivo’s branding strategy for the S50 lineup is still unclear.

The Vivo S50 is expected to debut in November in China and compete with the Oppo Reno 15 and Honor 500, which will be released around the same time.

Interestingly, the Vivo S30 Pro Mini was previously renamed Vivo X200 FE for the global market. If the company maintains the approach, the new S50 Pro Mini could come out outside of China as the Vivo X300 FE.
