The new Lenovo Legion 9i brings 3D gaming back to life

At the Tech World event in Shanghai, Lenovo announced the next generation of its flagship Legion 9i gaming laptop. The tenth-generation model not only gets the most powerful components on the market, but also an optional 3D display without the need for glasses.
One of the main features of the new Legion 9i is a 3D display with built-in gaze tracking and a lenticular matrix. The technology works without glasses and allows you to watch 3D video (in side-by-side and top-bottom formats), as well as run 30 supported games. So far, Lenovo hasn’t revealed which titles are on that list.

Even without the 3D option, the display is impressive: 18 inches, 4K, 16:10 aspect ratio and 240Hz refresh rate. It’s a “dual mode” like LG’s UltraGear Dual Mode OLED – the user can switch between 4K@240Hz and 1080p@440Hz. When 3D mode is activated, the resolution is split in half, like other similar solutions on the market.
Lenovo has installed the top-of-the-line components in the new notebook: an RTX 5090 graphics card, an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, and up to 192GB of DDR5 RAM. The notebook also supports the installation of up to four M.2 SSDs. The Legion 9i is capable of delivering up to 280W of power to the CPU and GPU at full load. A 400W power supply is included.

The price of the new model is expected to start at $4,500 – and that’s without the top-of-the-line configuration. A version with a 3D display and a top-of-the-line configuration could exceed $6,000. The laptop will first be released in China, and will later appear in the U.S. in the fall. Lenovo promises to reveal final pricing and configurations closer to the release date.
