Samsung has started production of Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7: expected to launch in July

Samsung is moving steadily toward a summer announcement of its new foldable smartphones. According to insiders, production of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 models has already started – along with accessories for them. This confirms that the previously scheduled dates have been met: the devices are expected to be unveiled in early July.

Staying on quality, not volume

According to a leak from PandaFlashPro, Samsung has started not only assembling the devices themselves, but also producing flexible OLED displays for both smartphones. This time around, however, the company has revised its production plans downward: output will be noticeably lower than its predecessors.

According to the leak from PandaFlashPro, Samsung has also started assembling the devices themselves and producing flexible OLED displays for both smartphones.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to be produced in around 3 million units, while the Fold 7 will be limited to just 2 million. That’s nearly 40 percent less than the combined circulation of last year’s models. Samsung appears to be adapting in advance to the potential drop in demand.

May launch a tri-folding smartphone

Besides the two main novelties, the manufacturer is preparing accessories for the new lineup in parallel. Also in the network appeared information about a mysterious device with a triple fold – a probable Galaxy Tri-Fold. Its release may take place before the end of the year, but in a limited edition – only 200 thousand copies. The high price is likely to make such a model a niche product.

What’s new in Flip 7 and Fold 7

The rumored Galaxy Z Flip 7 will get a larger external screen and may be the company’s first device based on its proprietary Exynos 2500 processor. It’s a next-generation 3nm chip, but if Samsung doesn’t finalize it in time, mass-produced devices could feature Snapdragon.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7, for its part, will almost certainly get the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy – the same chipset used in the upcoming Galaxy S25 flagship series.

Galaxy S25 Edge is coming out in May

While fans wait for new foldable models, Samsung is preparing another release, the Galaxy S25 Edge. The smartphone stands out with a slim body and will launch as early as next week. Pre-orders in the UK are already open, and the official announcement in South Korea is scheduled for May 13. In China, it’s set to debut on May 23, and global sales will begin before the end of the month.
