Galaxy Tab S9 tablets have started receiving One UI 7 on Android 15
By ForGeeks Samsung has unexpectedly accelerated the pace of updates to its devices: following the Galaxy Tab S10, a new version of the One UI 7 shell is now available for owners of the Galaxy Tab S9 series of tablets. So far it’s only available in South Korea, but the firmware’s arrival ahead of schedule has already caused a stir among users.
Samsung’s One UI 7 update is now available for the Galaxy Tab S9 series of tablets.
The firmware is based on Android 15 and includes the April 2025 security update. All three models in the lineup, the Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+ and Tab S9 Ultra, will receive the update. The firmware version ends with CYD9, which is in line with other devices already updated to One UI 7.
One UI 7 gets to the Tab S9 ahead of schedule
Samsung had originally planned to release an update for the Galaxy Tab S9 in May 2025. However, unlike the delayed release for the Galaxy S24 and foldable 2024 models, the update for the Tab S9 was available as early as April, albeit only in the home market.
The same version of One UI 7 had previously already started rolling out to owners of the Galaxy Tab S10, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy S23 lineup. Thus, Samsung is gradually getting back to the update schedule after a recent pause.
When to expect the update in other countries
One UI 7 for the Galaxy Tab S9 is currently only available in South Korea. Samsung hasn’t announced an exact global release date yet, but you can expect the update to arrive in other regions in the coming weeks.
Since the firmware is already available and being tested in a key market, the likelihood of rapid geographic expansion is very high. Users should keep an eye out for notifications in the system updates section or check for the firmware manually through the device’s settings.
