Pebble smartwatch is making a comeback: Core 2 Duo will get a compact USB-C adapter

The legendary smartwatch Pebble is gearing up for a comeback, with the launch of updated models Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2 developed on the open source PebbleOS in the coming weeks. Instead of the usual charging cable, the new product will get a USB-C adapter created by Nomad Studios.
The relaunch project is being handled by Eric Midzikowski, the founder of the original Pebble. He posted images of the packaging for the new Core 2 Duo watch, which is minimalist in style and, judging by the photos, doesn’t include a strap in the package.
Core 2 Duo is a re-release of the Pebble 2. The new watch retains the same charging connector, but instead of a separate cable, it now uses a compact USB-C adapter that lets you plug the device directly into a laptop or charging pad. This Nomad adapter was previously distributed for free, right around the time Pebble ceased to exist.
The Core 2 Duo model should go on sale in May, but as the developers clarify, the cost may change due to current customs duties.
