The new Atom electric car: how the prototype looks and drives

The Russian electric car called Atom has been demonstrated in motion for the first time – the prototype was personally driven by State Duma deputy Sergey Eremin. He also published a video of the test drive, which shows how the future novelty behaves on the road.
This is a pre-production model from the pilot batch, equipped with a welded steel body made using serial technologies. Both externally and internally, the electric car fully matches the version that will go into mass production. The visual feature of the car is an unusual solution with the doors: it has no traditional center pillars, and the rear doors open against the direction of travel. Vertical reinforcing elements integrated into the doors provide rigidity.
Where and when Atom will be produced
The production of the model is planned to be organized on the site of the Moskvich plant in the capital. According to information voiced by Eremin, assembly will start by the end of July 2025. This will be the first step towards the appearance of an affordable electric car of domestic assembly in Russian cities.
The production of the model will be organized on the site of the plant “Moskvich” in the capital.
