Video of iPhone 17 Air impresses with ultra-thin body: ‘it looks like the future’

The iPhone 17 Air existed only in rumors and schematics until recently, but now, thanks to a new Unbox Therapy video, we can get a glimpse of what one of Apple’s thinnest smartphones in history will look like – albeit in mockup form for now.

Lewis Hilsenger, host of the Unbox Therapy channel, got his hands on all the mockups of the iPhone 17 lineup, and the unqualified favorite was the iPhone 17 Air. His reaction was a mixture of surprise and delight: “It feels like it’s from the future,” he said as soon as he got his hands on the device.

Lew took measurements of the mockup on video, recording a thickness of just 5.65mm at its thinnest part -in comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max he also held showed 8.75mm. “It feels like it’s twice as thin. Not actually twice, but it feels that way,” the blogger commented.

Despite the wow effect, Lew also expressed some concerns: the device seems so light and thin that he had doubts about the strength of the case. The question of potential flexibility and fragility remains open, especially since the camera module visually thickens one side, creating a possible vulnerability.

Nevertheless, the overall impression was strong. The presenter admitted that he can’t imagine why anyone would buy any other iPhone if they could choose the Air – it looks so spectacular and technologically advanced.
