Honor is preparing GT Pro – a flagship with a huge battery

Honor is preparing to launch a performance and relatively low-cost flagship called Honor GT Pro. While the brand is actively promoting the upcoming Honor Power model scheduled to premiere on April 15, the certification of the new device, presumably belonging to the GT lineup, has already been spotted in China.

According to a leak from reputable insider Digital Chat Station, the Honor GT Pro will be built on the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite platform. The device will feature a flat 1.5K resolution display and support for 90W wired charging. Also mentioned is a larger silicon battery, an improved fingerprint scanner (likely ultrasonic) and a focus on a richer user experience.

Earlier this year, the same source reported that the smartphone will get a 6.78-inch OLED display with the same resolution and a front-facing fingerprint scanner. The main camera module is rumored to be a 50-megapixel unit, and the battery capacity will be around 6,000 mAh.

It’s worth noting that the device was previously expected to support up to 100W charging, but the latest data points to 90W. That’s the charging speed supported by a device with the model number PPG-AN00, which was recently certified by 3C, China’s regulator, increasing speculation that it’s the upcoming Honor GT Pro.

Honor has yet to officially announce the GT Pro model, but it’s expected to debut right after the Honor Power release.
