Microsoft updated Copilot: Vision, personalization, and hybrid search

Microsoft announced a major update to Copilot, adding three key features: a mobile version of the multimodal Vision tool, deep integration with the Bing search engine, and Copilot Memory for personalized recommendations.
Copilot Vision is now on your smartphone
Previously, Vision only worked in the Edge browser, analyzing the content of web pages. Now the tool is available in the Copilot mobile app for iOS and Android. It uses a smartphone’s camera to analyze gallery photos and videos in real time. For example, Copilot can determine the condition of plants from a video and offer maintenance tips or recognize a historical monument through the lens. The accuracy of these functions is still in question – AI companies often overestimate the capabilities of their models. You can check it out now: the update is available for all users.
Bing + Copilot: answers with pictures and data
The updated Bing has become a hybrid of classic and generative search. Copilot Search not only provides text summaries like Google’s Gemini, but also supplements answers with charts, images from Microsoft partners, and product comparisons. For example, a query about the best smartphones of 2025 will show ratings, prices, and links to reviews. The feature is available starting April 4.
Copilot Memory: a digital assistant with memory
The main novelty is Copilot Memory, which remembers details from the user’s life: favorite meals, movie genres, birthdays of relatives and travel preferences. Based on this data, the assistant suggests personalized actions: order flowers for a nephew, make restaurant reservations, or pick up a gift. Microsoft says Copilot works with “most websites,” but details of the integration have not yet been disclosed.

What else is new?”
The additional features include generating podcasts on a given topic, analyzing discounts to help with shopping, and automating routine tasks like scheduling appointments. Updates have already started rolling out to users, but a major release is planned for the coming weeks.
