BMW is preparing a unique concept for Concorso d’Eleganza 2025

At the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este car event to be held in May 2025 on the shores of Lake Como, BMW will once again present a unique one-off vehicle. The company continues its tradition of showcasing concepts that combine design audacity and engineering precision. After last year’s spectacular Z4-based Skytop and Touring Coupe, the Bavarian brand is ready to surprise with a new project – but is keeping the details under wraps for now.
The concept is designed “for the pleasure of driving for two”
Although BMW has not yet officially revealed the exterior or specifications of the new product, the manufacturer specifies that it is “an elegant sports car designed exclusively for two people.” This format excludes crossovers and SUVs, which means the most likely platform donors are coupes or roadsters. The hints suggest we’re not talking about a Z4 or 8 Series, but a 4 Series Convertible could be a suitable basis for the new car.

It’s quite possible that the concept is timed to coincide with the anniversary of one of BMW’s iconic models – 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the first generation of the BMW 3 Series (E21). In this case, it would be logical to create a modern reinterpretation of the classic model, emphasizing the continuity of design and brand philosophy.
All seven generations of the 3 Series on one site
BMW will pay special attention to its iconic 3 Series at the event. All generations of the 3 Series will be on display at the Concorso d’Eleganza – from the E21 to the current G20. In addition, the legendary M3 GTR (E36), designed in 1992 by the artist Sandro Chia, will be shown to visitors as part of the 50th anniversary of BMW’s art cars. In this way, aesthetics and speed will come together in one space.

The motorcycle division is also preparing a surprise
BMW’s two-wheeled division will not be left out either. The Motorrad division has announced the world premiere of a new concept, which is described as “an exploration of pure adrenaline on two wheels”. Details are also being kept under wraps, but judging by the wording, we can expect radical design and unconventional engineering.

Will the concept be a precursor to a production model?
The interest in such projects at BMW is growing – successful examples like the exclusive 3.0 CSL and Skytop confirm that the company has the potential to create limited edition hand-built models. While most such cars remain unique, in the case of the Skytop BMW has even considered launching a limited edition. It’s possible that the new concept could also get a sequel – if the publication generates enough excitement.
