Thanks to a number of leaks, the entire Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023 lineup has been revealed in great detail. The rumored foldable 2023 lineup will feature an updated thin and lightweight hinge that will make the Fold and Flip close completely flat. In addition to the usual internal updates, which include a move to a faster and more capable Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip «for Galaxy» and 12GB of RAM, the new foldable devices may utilize faster UFS 4.0 storage.

The rumored Galaxy Z Flip 5 will feature a larger 3.26-inch external display, and it will be interesting to see how Samsung optimizes its software to take advantage of it. Both clamshells should launch with Android 13 One UI 5.1.1 on board, containing several clamshell-specific features and improvements. The One UI 5.1.1 point release should make its way to the company’s existing Flip and Fold devices and flagship smartphones within the next few weeks. In South Korea, Samsung has already launched the One UI 5.1.1 beta program for the Fold 4.

Samsung also makes some of the best Android tablets, and with the release of the Galaxy Tab S9 lineup, it will further cement its dominance in this area. If the leaks are accurate, the new tablets won’t get any major changes. Apart from faster internals, they’ll have IP68 dust and water resistance, but that’s about it.
And that’s about it.
Besides the new foldable phones and tablets, Samsung may unveil the Galaxy Watch 6 series at the Unpacked event. While there’s no rumored successor to this year’s Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, the company is bringing back the classic rotating-bezel model. The watch should get a slightly faster Exynos chip, a larger display with thinner bezels, and longer battery life.

The Galaxy Watch 6 could be the first Android-based smartwatch with Wear OS 4 and One UI 5 Watch. The next-generation Wear OS, based on Android 13, will come with a number of new features, including built-in cloud backup, a new watch face format, and more. Samsung has been testing the One UI 5 Watch for its Wear OS-based smartwatch for over a month now. Therefore, a stable update is expected to arrive within a few days or weeks. At the event, the Korean giant may finally announce the Android 14-based One UI 6 beta program for its flagships and premium devices like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. There were rumors of the beta launching in the third week of July, but that didn’t happen. With the public release of Android 14 coming soon, Samsung’s One UI 6 beta program should also be ready for launch, and the Galaxy Unpacked event — the perfect platform for that.
