Chinese neural network DeepSeek did not make it into the top 10 popular AI solutions among Russian IT professionals

According to a recent survey by «Grid» a social network for networking IT professionals, the Chinese neural network DeepSeek failed to gain popularity on the Russian market and did not even make it into the top ten most in-demand AI solutions. The survey, which covered more than 1,500 specialists of various fields and skill levels, showed completely different preferences.
Russian neural network market leaders
The top five most popular neural networks among Russian IT professionals are as follows:
- Chat GPT (used by 90% of respondents)
- YandexGPT (about 33%)
- Midjourney (about 33%)
- GigaChat (20%)
- «Шедеврум» (17%)
Further down in the top 10 were Dall-E (16%), Kandinsky (14%), Claude (14%), Microsoft Copilot (8%) and Notion AI (8%). DeepSeek was only among «other» solutions used by a combined 16% of respondents.
Features of using neural networks
The survey revealed that 76% of IT professionals actively use neural networks in their work. There is an interesting pattern: mid-level (82%) and entry-level (75%) IT professionals use artificial intelligence most often, while experienced seniors use it less often (68%).
An interesting pattern can be observed.
In terms of specializations the most active are:
- Designers (88%)
- Backend developers (85%)
- Data analysts are the least likely to use neural networks (70%)
Main application scenarios
Russian IT professionals use neural networks mainly for:
- Image generation (47%, especially designers)
- Writing code (42%, mostly developers)
- Data analysis (37%)
- Finding and fixing errors in code (36%)
- Preparing documentation (36%)
It is interesting to note gender differences: men are more likely to use neural networks for writing code (52% vs. 21% for women) and finding bugs (44% vs. 18%), while women are more likely to use them for generating images (61% vs. 40% for men).
