The updated design of the Galaxy S25 Ultra could create problems for owners in the future

Some things shouldn’t be changed without a good reason – especially if they’re already working perfectly. Take the camera on Samsung’s flagship Ultra models.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra isn’t too different from its predecessor, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, as the Galaxy S24 Ultra was already a near-perfect device. The new model offers a few key improvements: a slightly larger 6.9-inch screen, a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, an updated 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a redesigned design.

It’s this new design, however, that could lead to problems in the future, as revealed in a disassembly of the device conducted by popular YouTube channel JerryRigEverything.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra gets softer corners instead of the sharp edges of its predecessor, and flat sides instead of rounded ones. But aside from these changes, Samsung has added another distinction – the massive rings around the cameras borrowed from the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

At first glance, this might seem like just a design element, but disassembly revealed that it’s not. Unlike the metal camera bezels of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the new smartphone’s rings are black, and the lenses are now slightly raised and not directly attached to the body.
