Huawei nova 13i with 108MP camera and Snapdragon 680 chipset unveiled

Huawei has quietly added a new nova 13i model to its website, continuing the series that began with the release of the nova 12i in March 2024. However, the new product doesn’t offer significant improvements over the previous model.
Camera: main focus on 108 MP
Like its predecessor, the Huawei nova 13i stands out with its 108 MP main camera. However, that’s where the impressive camera specs end. Additionally, the device features a 2 MP depth sensor on the back and an 8 MP front camera.
The limitations of the Snapdragon 680 chipset affect the camera functionality: the maximum video resolution remains at 1080p at 30 frames per second.

Hardware: everything is the same
The Nova 13i runs on the same Snapdragon 680 chipset introduced back in late 2021. It’s a 4G processor with support for the same LTE bands as in the 12i. The memory configuration is also unchanged, with 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB.

The only notable update is the software version: the nova 13i comes with EMUI 14.2 out of the box.
Screen and design
The phone features a 6.7-inch LCD display with 1080p+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The Always On Display feature, though rare for LCD panels, isn’t a novelty here. The 8 MP front camera is built into a notch on the display, and the fingerprint scanner is located on the side.
The design of the device retains a sophisticated look: The nova 13i is available in blue and white with gold accents, including a Super Star Orbit Ring around the camera.

Battery and charging
