Telegram is down again on October 24. Messages are not sent
By ForGeeks On the night of October 24-25, 2024, users around the world experienced a massive outage at Telegram. The problems reportedly started around midnight Moscow time and affected both sending messages and accessing channels and chats. Most of the complaints are coming from Russia, CIS countries, Europe and parts of Asia.
According to the Downdetector website, users started reporting issues en masse after midnight. The biggest problems reported were inability to connect to the server and delays in message delivery. Some also complained about the inability to log in to the app.
In Russia, the main problem has to do with messages not being sent. For some reason, most of the complaints have come from the Tver region. It is still unclear what happened and what it depends on.
The Telegram team has yet to release any official comment on why this happened. Social media has been filled with complaints and jokes about how «all plans for the night fell apart» and users have been discussing alternatives in case of further problems with the service. At the time of writing the news, some users are reporting that access is gradually being restored, but a full fix to the problems has yet to be confirmed.
This is the third such major outage on Telegram in the past two months. Last time, the messenger didn’t work properly for several hours.
