Apple Vision Pro will get an AI spatial computing system

Ming-Chi Kuo, a respected Apple analyst, says the company plans to begin mass production of the next-generation Vision Pro in the second half of 2025. Its key advantage will be the artificial intelligence-based spatial computing enabled by the M5 chip.
Now Vision Pro runs on the M2 chip, so the M5 will significantly improve its performance. This, in turn, will improve the artificial intelligence capabilities that are critical to spatial computing.

The company wants to make the human-machine interface more intuitive and efficient by combining Apple Intelligence, eye tracking, and gesture control. And the M5’s improved ability to handle AI tasks is key to making that happen.
Ming-Chi Kuo believes Apple will be able to keep the price relatively similar because it will use essentially the same hardware, upgrading only the chip. However, a lighter design and a larger battery are still not out of the question.
If the company succeeds in realizing its vision, the next-generation Vision Pro could be a smash hit. The planned AI capabilities are likely to be superior to those offered by standard smartphones, for example, but will they be enough?
