Roblox will open a marketplace to sell item sets from creators

Enrico D’Angelo, Roblox’s VP of Economics, said on his blog, “Selling avatars and items as a set is much more convenient for users, as they will be able to buy complete images all at once rather than piecemeal. We recently launched a new way to search for avatar sets and have already seen a positive increase in the number of customers choosing complete images rather than individual accessories.”

Revenue Growth and Marketplace Opportunities
Simultaneously with this announcement, Roblox also shared data about creators on the platform. According to the company, the number of creators earning 50,000 Robux per month was up 85% year-over-year as of June, while total monthly creator revenue increased 61% over the same period. In April, Roblox opened up access to the Marketplace to more creators, and since then, overall revenue growth for those accounts that existed before that expansion has increased from 30% in March to 50% in June.
Roblox has also seen an increase in the number of creators who have access to the Marketplace.
D’Angelo adds: “For creators and brands, this means new ways to showcase their creative vision, build a connection with audiences and increase revenue. We recognize that the Roblox ecosystem is stronger when our community has more opportunities and incentives to create and sell their work.”
