Nintendo has announced the official charging station for the Joy-Con Switch

Nintendo has announced a new official charging station for Joy-Con Switch controllers that will make it easier to charge them without having to plug them into the console. This innovation will allow Joy-Con controllers to be charged separately from the system, which is convenient for users with multiple sets of controllers.
The new charging station will be available in Japan on October 17, 2024, and will cost ¥3,300 (about $21). It’s already available for pre-order in Japan through the My Nintendo Store. According to the latest reports, the device will also be available in Europe, as confirmed by Nintendo UK’s Twitter account. We’re awaiting official confirmation from Nintendo’s U.S. division.

The charging station allows you to charge the Joy-Con in an upright position or use them as a traditional controller. Notably, it also supports charging wireless Famicom controllers, which are available exclusively in Japan and are compatible with the Switch Online Famicom library.

«You can easily charge Joy-Cons at any time without having to attach them to a Nintendo Switch console. This is especially useful for those with multiple Joy-Con sets, such as when you want to charge the controllers for everyone in the «Mario Party» or «Nintendo Switch Sports» series, or when you want to charge controllers you’re not using in portable mode. The station is also suitable for charging the «Family Computer» controller for the Nintendo Switch.»
