The much-hyped debut trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 has amassed 200 million views on YouTube. It’s been seven months since the video was posted. The promotional video has become Rockstar Games’ most viewed video.

In comparison, Grand Theft Auto 5’s trailer has garnered 111 million views in the same period. It debuted 12 years ago, by the way. But in 2012, the video game and social media industry wasn’t nearly as developed as it is today. In this regard, it would be not quite correct to speak about a double difference in opinions: “Internet inflation” and the popularity of such games play their role.

In terms of sales, the day after Grand Theft Auto 5’s release, the developers sold 13 million copies. It’s hard to imagine what kind of figures await the sixth installment of the franchise after the release with a mark of 200 million views on YouTube.
