According to the source, CPU overclocking will only be available on Intel’s flagship Z890 platform, while memory overclocking will also be possible on motherboards with the B860 chipset. The W880 enterprise platform will feature support for DDR5 modules with error correction correction (ECC), which will not be available on other next-generation motherboards.

One of the most notable improvements of the new system logic sets over previous motherboards will be an increase in the number of PCI-Express chipset lanes — up to 48 on the top-of-the-line Z890 and W880. The B860 will also support PCIe 5.0 x16 and x4 interfaces through the processor, allowing configurations with the latest graphics cards and SSDs to be built on more affordable motherboards.
