Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Ultra design revealed in first renders

The internet has been abuzz with rumors that Samsung will release a new square-shaped smart watch this year, rather than the traditional round one. Judging by the published renders from insider OnLeaks, this appears to be partially true — the new Galaxy Watch7 Ultra will be different from the company’s previous models.

According to the renders, the Galaxy Watch7 Ultra’s body will be square with rounded corners, in the style of the app icons in the One UI. The screen will remain round and will measure 1.5 inches, like the Galaxy Watch6 Classic. The watch will measure 47×47.4×16.4 mm, compared to 46.5×46.5×10.9 mm on the Watch6 Classic. Despite the shape change, the distinctive rotating bezel will remain.

Other features include three physical buttons and a large speaker slot. The strap attachment is likely to be changed from previous models. The sensors on the inside of the case will also change, which could herald new health-tracking features.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Ultra is expected to be unveiled alongside the foldable smartwatch at a special event in July.
