Microsoft plans to introduce the Xbox Series X without a floppy drive in the summer of 2024

Microsoft will release the floppy drive-less Xbox Series X in a white body color this summer, but that timeline could be pushed back. It’s worth noting that the white version of the Xbox Series X will get an improved heatsink and Nexus connector, while the rest of the console’s specs appear to remain the same. The cost of the Xbox Series X without a floppy drive has not yet been announced. But the Web speculates that the updated console will cost $50 to $100 less than the standard model.

.
Remember, back in September, information leaked about a cylindrical version of the Xbox, codenamed Brooklin, that would be devoid of a floppy drive. At the time, the color of the device was not specified. Speaking of which, it’s currently unknown whether this will be the only version of the console, as Microsoft’s head of gaming Phil Spencer has previously said that the company has no plans to abandon physical copies of games.
Interestingly, in the middle of this month, top Xbox executives shared their vision for the future of Xbox, and now the company is already developing a next-generation console that promises to deliver the biggest leap forward in technology yet, but details and a potential release date have not been revealed.
At this point, it’s unclear whether the next-generation console will be the only version of the console.
