Swarovski Optik revealed AX Visio smart binoculars that recognizes more than 9,000 bird species

Swarovski Optik has unveiled the world’s first smart binoculars, the AX Visio, which can recognize living things using machine learning algorithms. The device can instantly identify more than 9,000 bird species.
It works simply — just point the binoculars at the bird, check the clarity of the image and press a button. The system will then display the creature’s name on the screen, pulling data from Merlin’s extensive Bird ID database of more than 9,000 different species.
The AX Visio uses object-recognition technology and a built-in neural processor. The binoculars themselves have a multiple of 10x magnification and each objective lens is 32 millimeters in diameter. The field of view at a distance of 1 km is 112 meters. The image sensor has a resolution of 13 megapixels. The smart binoculars will last for 15 hours of continuous use in normal use and two hours in intensive mode.
