Pre-orders are now open for the second batch of the $199 R1 handheld artificial intelligence device after its debut at CES 2024 sparked a flurry of interest.
The R1 is now open for pre-orders.
When we started building r1, we said internally that we'd be happy if we sold 500 devices on launch day. In 24 hours, we already beat that by 20x!

R1, the pocket-sized gadget from Rabbit that’s supposed to use your apps for you, has already sold out of its first batch. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Rabbit startup announced that it had sold 10,000 units in just one day.

Rabbit presented the R1 on Tuesday at CES. The device features a small 2.88-inch touchscreen and runs Rabbit’s own Rabbit OS. According to my colleague David Pierce, who got to try out the device during the show, it uses a «large action model» that acts as a «sort of universal controller for applications». This allows it to do things like play music, buy groceries and send messages through a single interface without having to use a phone. In addition, the device can be trained to interact with a specific app.

Although the first batch has already sold out, you can still pre-order the R1 device on Rabbit’s website. Rabbit says the expected delivery date is — between April and May 2024. But if you managed to place your order before the first batch of devices sold out, expect them to start shipping in March.
