First look at the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max: new design and A19 Pro processor

Apple presented the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. The first thing that catches the eye is the new bright colors and redesigned back panel. Instead of the faded hues of last year, the company opted for a bolder palette, and updated the body materials and camera layout. And half an hour later, we have live photos of the new iPhones at our disposal.
Two-tone back panel
Despite the updates, the smartphone remains recognizably iPhone. It gets a brushed aluminum bezel and a polished camera strip that now stretches across the entire back panel.
So far, it’s been updated with a brushed aluminum bezel and a polished camera strip that now stretches across the entire back panel.

A separate detail is a square polished glass insert with Ceramic Shield in the center of the case. According to Apple, it serves to improve heat dissipation. But at the same time, the element creates a two-tone visual effect, as if the smartphone already has the accessory on it or the company itself is suggesting the addition of it.

Camera band and usability
The new design has solved another old problem: wobbling of the smartphone on a surface. The camera strip makes the body more stable, and now the device lies noticeably flatter on the table. The effect hasn’t completely disappeared – the lenses still protrude a bit – but the wobble is only felt when you press on the top left corner. It’s a small but noticeable improvement in comfort.

48MP triple camera
The main camera system retains the triple module, but it’s now incorporated into a solid band, visually echoing Google’s signature Pixel design. All three lenses get 48MP sensors, making the upgrade not only aesthetic, but technical as well.

New A19 Pro processor
In addition to the exterior changes, Apple has also updated the hardware in the flagships. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are equipped with new A19 Pro processors, which offer better performance and energy efficiency than the previous generation.
