Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro will get the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC

Besides the expected announcement of new Xiaomi 17 series smartphones, the company is gearing up to unveil the Pad 8 tablet. Thanks to regular leaks, we already have a clear idea of what’s in store.

Position in the lineup and specs
The Pad 8 is positioned as the base model below the Pad 8 Pro. According to a recent result in Geekbench for the device, coded 25097RP43C, the tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM. The test scores – around 1984 in single-core mode and 6,323 – are slightly inferior to smartphones like the Poco F7 or Nothing Phone (3) that use the same chip, which is normal for release-stage devices.

Xiaomi has already announced some specs: an 11.2-inch LCD screen with 3.2K resolution and a high 144Hz refresh rate, which is ideal for gaming and active content. The device has a 9200 mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. The tablet is slim at just 5.75mm and weighs around 485g, almost as light as the Pro version.
The expected features include a 13-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel front-facing camera, four speakers, four microphones, and a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port for fast data transfer.
The tablet is expected to run HyperOS 3, which will provide a smoother integration with Xiaomi’s ecosystem. Images have surfaced online showing a concise design: flat edges, thin bezels in the style of the brand’s latest models.
