Neuralink has planned a new mind-reading study

Neuralink is set to conduct another clinical trial in the US as early as October. The aim is to test a device that can convert thoughts into text. The study will be conducted under the FDA’s experimental device approval. “If you think about what you want to say, we can understand it,” Neuraleink President Dongjin Seo said this week.

The idea behind the project is to help people with speech impairments communicate using only thoughts. Neuralink is developing implants that allow patients to control a computer with mental effort. This could include actions such as typing on a virtual keyboard or controlling devices. Transmitting thoughts directly from the speech area of the brain can greatly speed up communication by eliminating the need to speak aloud.

The implant can be used to help patients communicate more quickly by eliminating the need to speak aloud.

The company already has five other clinical trials underway. The first was in the US, followed by similar trials in Canada, the UK and the United Arab Emirates.

“We think it’s possible to show the possibility of communicating with advanced artificial intelligence (LLM) models by transmitting thoughts at speeds faster even than you speak, and possibly transmitting them through AirPods, creating a closed loop.”
