Xiaomi has unveiled a more affordable Sound 2 Pro Hi-Fi speaker with RCA, USB-C and Bluetooth

Xiaomi has launched a new Hi-Fi speaker Sound 2 Pro. The new product is a more affordable alternative to the Sound 2 Max model introduced late last year, and offers wired and wireless connectivity options in a metal case with a concise design.
In contrast to Xiaomi’s portable speakers like the Sound Outdoor, the Sound 2 Pro refers to a stationary speaker. In comparison, the Sound 2 Max was equipped with two 4-inch woofers, a separate midrange driver and tweeter, delivering up to 101dB of volume per speaker.
The new Sound 2 Pro gets a simpler speaker layout: one mid-bass driver and tweeter each. The main driver accounts for 40 watts of power, the tweeter — 20 watts. The maximum volume is lower than in the older model and is 96.3 dB. The frequency range is also already — 53 Hz to 21.7 kHz, while the Sound 2 Max had 47 Hz — 22 kHz. That said, Xiaomi allows you to combine up to four Sound 2 Pro speakers into a single system, which sets it apart from some competitors, including Apple HomePod.
The Sound 2 Pro is also available in a variety of models, including the Apple HomePod.
The speaker features physical controls and supports analog and digital connectivity via RCA and USB Type-C, respectively. Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6 are also available, and for wireless audio transmission, there’s Xiaomi’s proprietary standard that works through the Sound Wireless Audio Connector accessory.
In China, the Xiaomi Sound 2 Pro sells for 1,399 yuan (roughly $201), which is 600 yuan cheaper than the Sound 2 Max. The company has not yet disclosed information about the speaker’s international launch.
