The first Moto 360 appeared in 2014 and ran Android Wear, becoming the first smart watch to utilize Google’s platform. There were two generations before production ceased, and then in 2019, the Moto 360 name was reinstated, but under a licensing agreement with a third party.


This time around, it’s implied that Motorola has taken the reins, hence the notion that Wear OS is somehow involved. On the other hand, the recently released Moto Watch Fit doesn’t run Wear OS, so there’s some doubt here too.
