Ubisoft’s Forward 2025 gaming expo – canceled

Ubisoft has officially confirmed that it will not hold its annual Ubisoft Forward presentation this year, which has traditionally served as a platform for announcements of the company’s biggest projects. This was reported by journalist Stephen Totilo, citing a Ubisoft spokesperson.
The company will instead limit its participation to other Summer Game Fest events – including the PC Gaming Show, IGN Live, as well as GamesCom in August.
“We always welcome the opportunity to interact with our audience and share news about our games… We are currently looking at other options for updates and announcements, and will share details later,” Ubisoft commented.
This is the first time since 2020 that Ubisoft has dropped its own presentation. According to Totilo, one reason could be the lack of a large number of releases in the second half of the year, making a separate show unjustified.

Recently, Ubisoft announced the postponement of several major but as yet unannounced projects. While no names were revealed, the company hinted in a financial report that it was talking about franchises like Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Rainbow Six, and Ghost Recon.
Background has revealed that the long-delayed Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake will still see the light of day – by March 2026.
In addition, earlier this year Ubisoft announced the creation of a new subsidiary studio that will focus on developing its three key brands: Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six. The new entity, funded in part by Chinese tech giant Tencent, will have more creative freedom and investment to scale.
So instead of large-scale announcements, we’ll see spot screenings at outside venues and a focus on refining flagship franchises.
