Tesla unveiled its 2025 holiday update with Grok navigation, Santa Mode and new entertainment options

Tesla has begun rolling out the 2025 holiday update, one of the biggest in years. Users get a new generation of navigation featuring Grok, enhanced charging features, improved Dog Mode and a suite of entertainment options.
The update will arrive “soon” and includes major changes to the navigation system. According to Tesla, Grok is now able to add and edit destinations, acting as a personal assistant. The feature requires you to select Grok’s “Assistant” personality.

New navigation and routing features
The company has added several improvements related to routing. Home and work can now be saved as favorites simply by tapping on the map. Also in parking mode, the system shows route suggestions based on recent trips and the driver’s habits.

An automatic lane selection option for high-occupancy vehicles (HOV) has also appeared. If you enable this setting, the route will take into account time, location, number of passengers, and traffic restrictions.
Part of the Supercharger stations have received three-dimensional site diagrams. They show the location of charging racks, which helps you choose a spot ahead of time. Owners can also set individual charging limits for individual locations.
Entertainment features and visual updates
Holiday updates traditionally include gaming and visual additions. The 2025 introduced Tesla Photobooth – an app for selfies from the internal camera with filters and stickers – and Santa Mode, which turns the car’s interface into a sort of Santa’s sleigh. The update also added a Jingle Rush light show.
Customization options for the car’s avatar have been expanded, with glass tints, new film options and license plate styles now available.
The ISS Docking Simulator, a simulation of docking with the International Space Station, has been added to the game. The controls are based on the elements used by NASA.
Expanded Dog Mode and Dashcam
The iPhone now has Live Activity when Dog Mode is active: owners can access periodic interior photos and updates on temperature, charge, and climate settings. Dashcam now captures additional metrics, including speed, steering angle and the status of autopilot systems.

The update won’t be available in all regions or for all models: some features aren’t supported on older cars. Tesla didn’t give an exact release date, noting only that the update will begin rolling out “soon.”
