Spotify has added built-in playlist transfer from other services
Spotify has introduced a new feature that third-party services have been offering for years. Users can now transfer their playlists from competing music platforms directly into Spotify — and it works in partnership with third-party service TuneMyMusic.
The new feature will allow users to transfer their playlists from competing music platforms directly into Spotify — and it works in partnership with third-party service TuneMyMusic.
TuneMyMusic has long provided playlist transfer between different streaming services, and now it’s partially integrated into Spotify. However, the integration only works one way — to import playlists into Spotify rather than from it.
To transfer your selections, you need to open the «Your Media Library» section in the Spotify mobile app, swipe down and select «Import Your Music». The app will then prompt you to connect to TuneMyMusic. Then it is left to select the service where the desired playlists are located, mark the ones you want to transfer, and wait for the transfer to complete. There’s no limit to the number of playlists or the number of tracks in them.
The feature is «gradually rolling out worldwide» over the next few days. If you don’t have it yet, you just have to wait — it will become available later.
