The most popular car colors in Russia have been named

Analytics of “Avito Auto” have calculated what colors of cars are most often found on the Russian market and what buyers are really interested in. It turned out that demand is noticeably at odds with supply: the most common cars are white, black, gray and silver, but brown and green cars are increasingly attracting the attention of buyers.
Supply and demand for new cars
In the new car segment, “monochrome” leads the way. White, black, gray and silver colors account for 82% of all offers. However, in terms of demand, the balance is different: Russians are more often interested in brown cars, while interest in classic monochrome shades is 15-33% lower.

Used cars: growing interest in green
Green has unexpectedly become the leader in interest on the secondary market. It was 8% more popular than black and almost 20% more popular than white and gray. Demand for red, brown and beige cars is at about the same level as white, which also indicates a shift in buyer preferences.
How preferences have changed over the year
A year ago, the ranking was more traditional: black (22%) and white (21.8%) cars were the most frequently searched for. Next came gray (14.1%), silver (12.3%) and blue (9.1%). However, in the first half of last year, analysts noted a 3.1% drop in the share of white cars and an increase in interest in brown cars.

World trends: what’s on trend abroad
According to BASF, white, black and gray are also the global leaders in 2024. But there has been a shift among bright colors, with yellow almost doubling in popularity.
