Huawei Enjoy 80 officially unveiled: affordable smartphone with a big battery

Huawei has launched its first Enjoy 80 series smartphone in China. The novelty doesn’t support 5G, but offers decent specs at an affordable price. The device has already gone on sale in the home market in several configurations.
Huawei Enjoy 80 features a 6.67-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1604 × 720 pixels, 90Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits. A fingerprint scanner is integrated into the side power button.
The smartphone is powered by a good old Kirin 710A processor, a 4G chip that focuses on power efficiency and stable performance. The device runs on HarmonyOS 4.0, has 8GB of RAM, and the storage varies up to 512GB.


The smartphone gets a 6620 mAh battery with 40W fast charging support. The 50MP main camera is responsible for basic photo capabilities, while the 8MP front camera is suitable for selfies and video calls.
The case is IP64-rated to protect against dust and splashes. There’s also Bluetooth 5.1 support, Wi-Fi 5, a 3.5mm audio jack, an infrared port, and a dedicated Enjoy X Key on the side edge. NFC is not supported. The standard version is 8.25mm thick and weighs 203g, while the leather-trimmed variant is slightly thicker at 8.33mm and weighs 206g.
Huawei Enjoy 80 is already available in China. The 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM model is priced at 1,199 yuan ($165), the 256GB version is priced at 1,399 yuan ($192), and the top-end configuration with 512GB of storage is priced at 1,699 yuan (~$233). Color options include: sky blue, white, black, and green. It’s not yet known if the smartphone will be available outside of China.
