Honor Magic 8 Pro Air will be unveiled on January 19
Honor is preparing to unveil one of the most interesting ultra-thin smartphones on the market in the coming days — the Magic 8 Pro Air. Despite being only 0.24 inches thick, the device will get a main camera with a large 1/1.3-inch sensor and a 64-megapixel periscopic telephoto lens, which the company has now confirmed officially.
Honor has now confirmed that the device will feature a large 1/1.3-inch sensor and a 64-megapixel periscopic telephoto lens.
After a series of leaks, Honor has published new teaser images showing the smartphone in four colors at once and also revealed some of the specifications. The Honor Magic 8 Pro Air will come in white, black, orange, and purple variants.

At 0.24 inches thick, the smartphone is just 0.02 inches thicker than the Apple iPhone Air, but Honor says it outperforms the competition in a number of key parameters. The Magic 8 Pro Air has already been confirmed to feature a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.6 aperture and a relatively large 1/1.3-inch sensor. It is complemented by a 64-megapixel periscopic telephoto lens with f/2.6 aperture and 3.2x optical zoom. A 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture is also rumored.
A 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture is also expected.
The Honor Magic 8 Pro Air’s screen diagonal will be 6.31 inches, making it noticeably more compact compared to the iPhone Air. It will reportedly use an LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR peak brightness of up to 6,000 nits, and a resolution of 2,640 × 1,216 pixels. At the heart of the smartphone will be a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip, providing flagship-level performance.

The battery capacity will be 5500 mAh — that’s significantly more than the Apple iPhone Air or Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. Fast wired charging up to 80W via USB-C is supported, as well as wireless charging up to 50W. The Honor Magic 8 Pro Air will be officially unveiled on January 19.
