Honor has launched the Watch GS 5 smartwatch

Along with the Magic8 Pro Air and Magic8 RSR Porsche Edition smartwatches, Honor has officially unveiled the new Watch GS 5 smartwatch in China, which replaces the Watch GS 3.

The watch weighs just 26 grams, is 9.9mm thick, has a single side control button, and is IP68 dust and water resistant. It’s also claimed to be 5 ATM water resistant, allowing the device to be used while swimming. It’s available with black or khaki-colored leather straps.
Honor claims that the Watch GS 5 is the only smartwatch on the market that supports research-based sudden cardiac arrest risk screening features combined with cardiovascular risk assessment. The company also notes that users identified as high-risk can expect phone support from Honor’s research team.

The device features a 495 mAh silicon-carbon battery. The manufacturer claims up to 23 days of battery life when Always-On Display mode is turned off, and up to 9 days when it’s in use.
Honor Watch GS 5 supports Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and works with five satellite navigation systems. A microphone and speaker are built into the case, allowing you to take Bluetooth calls. There is also 4GB of internal memory. The watch is compatible with smartphones running Android 6.0 and above, as well as devices running iOS 9.0 and later.
In China, the Honor Watch GS 5 is already available for pre-order, with official sales starting on January 23. The recommended price is 699 yuan, which is equivalent to about $100.
