Genesis is preparing its first higher-powered electric car, the GV60 Magma

Genesis is entering the high-performance electric car market by finalizing its first sporty model — the GV60 Magma. To test the balance between speed and comfort, engineers took the car on a global tour through extreme climates.
Tests began in Arjeplog, Sweden, where the car was tested in harsh winter conditions. The GV60 Magma was then taken to the US, in the deserts of California, where the motors and batteries were tested under extreme heat. In New Zealand, at the Southern Test Range, the car was tested in sub-zero temperatures and at an altitude of 1,500 meters, focusing on chassis, traction and braking.

The final stage took place in South Korea as engineers drove the GV60 Magma around speedways, mountain roads and the Inje Speedium race track to achieve the perfect blend of power and comfort.
The GV60 Magma is built on a common platform with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, which have already proven themselves with sporty versions — Ioniq 5 N (641 hp) and EV6 GT. The regular GV60 Performance produces 483 hp and accelerates to 97 km/h in 3.7 seconds, so expect the Magma version to be able to get closer to the 3.0-second mark.
The Magma version is expected to be able to get closer to the 3.0-second mark.
New details about the powertrain have not yet been revealed, but apart from the dynamics, we should expect a retuned suspension with adaptive dampers and synthetic sound for the silent electric drive.

Price hasn’t been announced, but with the GV60 Performance priced from €60,500, the Magma version is likely to cost more than €63,200. From spy photos and the concept we can judge the design: lowered ground clearance, 21-inch wheels, a large rear spoiler and diffuser.
