The Galaxy S25 FE will run on One UI 8, but its chipset might disappoint you

In contrast to the Snapdragon 8 Elite used in the S25 trio, the S25 FE will reportedly be equipped with the Exynos 2400e, the same 4nm chip used in the S24 FE. For those not in the know, it’s a simplified version of the Exynos 2400 used in the S24 and S24+.

The Exynos 2500 (and its 2500e variant) is likely not ready for release yet, which may explain Samsung’s choice to go with the 2400e. While its performance is impressive, it still lags behind the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 in terms of power efficiency. The S24 FE’s 6.7-inch AMOLED screen (brightness up to 1900 nits) and 4700mAh battery are expected to set the bar high – you can expect similar or slightly improved specs.

One UI 8 powered by Android 16 will likely debut with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 in July, offering updated apps and video guides using artificial intelligence. The S25 FE’s late launch guarantees it will be bundled with this version of the software. However, some fans are questioning the feasibility of reusing Exynos. Will changes in cameras or design be able to compensate for the outdated chip? Time will tell.
