Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 electric truck delivers Formula 1 cars for the first time

The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team has used an electric truck for the first time Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 to deliver cars and equipment to a World Championship round. The vehicle traveled 673 kilometers from its headquarters in Brackley, UK, to the track in Zandvoort, where the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix will take place on September 1.

Second race after the test at Silverstone
The route to Zandvoort was the team’s first full international flight and the second in its history following a test run at the British Grand Prix. Mercedes-AMG says it is a clear demonstration of the maturity of electric propulsion technology for haulage in motorsport.

The electric truck has a 600 kWh battery that provides up to 500 kilometers of travel without recharging. It can be recharged from 20 percent to 80 percent in 25 minutes.
Mercedes-AMG’s environmental strategy
“We’re not just looking to win on the track, but to make a difference off the track. Using the eActros 600 is an important step in our strategy to reduce our carbon footprint.”
Mercedes-AMG is implementing a comprehensive plan to reduce emissions. Since 2022, the team has been using biofuels to transport equipment and run generators. In the 2024 season, this approach covered 98% of the logistics and helped avoid more than 500 tons of CO₂ emissions.

Global Mercedes-Benz Initiatives
The use of electric trucks has become part of the group’s broader environmental strategy. Mercedes-Benz has previously announced the launch of a pilot project to scrap used cars in order to reduce the environmental burden.
