Dell has launched the Rugged 12 and 10 rugged tablets with a modular design

Dell has expanded its Rugged lineup with the introduction of two new tablets designed for rugged environments. These rugged devices not only offer enhanced ruggedness, but also feature replaceable batteries, bright screens and support for the latest artificial intelligence-based features. Dell Rugged 12 features a 12-inch touchscreen protected by Gorilla Glass 5 with Full HD+ resolution and peak brightness up to 1200 nits. The device weighs 1.31 kg. The younger model, the Rugged 10, features a 10-inch screen with up to 1,000 nits of brightness and weighs 1.04 kg. The Rugged 10 has a 10-inch screen with up to 1,000 nits of brightness and weighs 1.04 kg. The older model features a built-in barcode scanner with extended range, while the younger version has a VESA mount (50×50). General specs for both tablets include an Intel Ultra 7 or Ultra 5 processor (in various configurations), 32GB of RAM, and up to 2TB SSD. The two tablets meet IP66, MIL-STD-810H and MIL-STD-461G protection standards. Their displays can recognize touches even with gloves or wet fingers. The storage, battery and USB-C port can be replaced if needed. These devices support Copilot+ for PCs, feature TPM 2.0 and Wi-Fi 7 modules, a front camera with a security shutter and support for Windows Hello, as well as a fingerprint scanner and smart card slot. The Rugged 12 and 10 tablets are also available with a fingerprint scanner and smart card slot. The tablets are optionally available with 5G support and a built-in modem, as well as an IP66-rated plug-in keyboard. In the US market, the Dell Rugged 10 can be purchased starting at $2,670 ($217,700 USD) and the Rugged 12 starting at $2,990 ($243,800 USD).
