Bentley unveiled the EXP 15 electric concept at Pebble Beach

At one of the world’s most prestigious car shows, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California, Bentley Motors unveiled the new EXP 15 full-size concept. This “rolling sculpture” demonstrates the direction the brand is set to take in the coming years.

For a manufacturer famous for its powerful gasoline engines, the EXP 15 has come to symbolize the transition to all-electric vehicles. It’s not a production model, but a design benchmark that will help shape the look of Bentley’s first electric car. By showing the concept to collectors and fans of the brand during Monterey Car Week, the company actually conducted an open focus group. Feedback from these enthusiasts will be taken into account at its headquarters in Crewe, UK.

The EXP 15 was inspired by the legendary 1930 Bentley Speed Six Gurney Nutting Sportsman coupé known as the “Blue Train”. Inherited elements include a long hood and a rearward-sloping cab, forming a classic silhouette.

An unusual detail of the concept is the three-seat cabin layout. It’s not designed to increase capacity, but to maximize comfort: the third seat provides additional space and separate storage areas, including room for luggage or even a pet.

The EXP 15’s design is based on five key principles that will define the styling of future Bentley electric cars:

  • “Upright Elegance” – a sleek, upright front end;
  • “Iconic Grille” – a reinterpretation of the signature grille for electric cars;
  • “Endless Bonnet Line” – retaining the traditionally long hood;
  • “Resting Beast” – a muscular and dynamic silhouette that conveys power even when static;
  • “Prestigious Shield” rear panel with updated Bentley logo

Despite the new technologies, Bentley emphasizes that it will not abandon its heritage. The long hood and imposing grille will remain an important part of the brand identity, even in the electric age.

After the premiere, the EXP 15 went on a photo shoot along the famous 17 Mile Drive before being displayed next to an original 1930 Bentley Speed Six “Blue Train” coming from a private collection.
