New Apple iPad, iPad mini and iPad Air to be announced in the next few months

Apple is working on a range of new tablets, all of which will be released in the next few months. All of them are due to hit the market with a version of iPadOS 17, which means they’ll be released before September next year, when Apple will update iPadOS 18 to supported devices.

This is a fuzzy timeline, but what’s clearer is the models to expect. First up is a new iPad mini with the same design as the previous model, but with new internal hardware.

Second, not one but two new iPad Airs, one of which could be either a plus-size model or a higher-end model than the «base» iPad Air. Here, too, the design is expected to be similar to the current iPad Air.

The —budget-level Apple iPad. This is the 11th generation with the same design as the current model, but with an updated chipset. Finally, a new iPad Pro with the M3 chip is on the way, in two sizes as usual.

There will also be a new Magic Keyboard, which was rumored last month and now «confirmed» by this leak.

This keyboard will make the iPad more laptop-like. Apparently, its construction will be made of aluminum, rather than plastic like the current Magic Keyboard. The trackpad will also be bigger, with new sensors, including an accelerometer. It’s expected to be unveiled at the same time as the new iPad Pro tablets.
