Lenovo is preparing a new gaming tablet Legion – the announcement may take place in May

Lenovo appears to be gearing up to unveil a new device in its Legion lineup. On Wednesday, the company posted a teaser on Weibo showing the front and back panel of the upcoming tablet.
The next-generation Legion Y700?
Although no official name is mentioned in the teaser, Chinese insider WhyLab believes it’s the successor to the Legion Y700 gaming tablet with an 8.8-inch display. Judging by the image, Lenovo has slightly updated the design: the new tablet is likely to lose the dual camera on the back, as in the previous model, and get a single main module. The front of the device remains without radical changes.

Specs: Snapdragon 8 Elite, 3K display and 165Hz
According to another verified source, Digital Chat Station, the tablet will get the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset (as opposed to the predecessor’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3). The screen, according to the leak, will be an 8.8-inch screen, based on an LCD panel from TCL Huaxing, with a 3K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate.
Large battery and tactile feedback
It’s also reported that the tablet will feature a 7,000 to 8,000 mAh battery. Additional features include two X-axis linear vibration motors and stereo speakers, which should be especially appealing to gamers.

An announcement is expected in early May
Although Lenovo has yet to announce an official launch date, Digital Chat Station hints at a possible announcement in May. Given that Lenovo has an AI conference scheduled for May 7, and that the tablet’s teaser emphasizes AI capabilities, it’s likely that the device will be unveiled then.
