The source says the company will emphasize artificial intelligence capabilities in its line of iPad devices. Apple’s M4 processor will support a new version of its Neural Engine technology, which is responsible for the artificial intelligence features. This hardware platform will later be used in the Mac line of devices as well.

It’s not yet known exactly what innovations will be implemented in the upcoming new product. Most of them will presumably be included in iOS 18, which is scheduled for release this June. It is expected that the updated processor will not be the only significant change. The tablet is said to have an OLED screen, a new front camera sensor, and more advanced versions of the Apple Pencil stylus and Magic Keyboard.
