Ilon Musk has said he plans to ditch the Twitter logo, and has even started asking users for ideas for a new X-shaped logo. In a tweet posted on Saturday night, Musk said that if he was offered a good enough X logo in the evening, the company would switch to it on Sunday.

Since buying the company for $44 billion last October, Twitter’s owner has endured a turbulent period that includes mass layoffs, a battle with advertisers, and now the arrival of a new competitor in the form of the Threads app.

Beyond all the turmoil, however, Musk plans to rethink how the social network operates. He has long promoted the idea of creating a «app for everything» called «X». In April, Bloomberg reported that Musk had incorporated Twitter into X Corp. one of three holding companies that Musk created last April.
Musk’s company is now a part of X Corp.
It’s not yet clear what the app will look like, but Musk suggested it will be inspired by Tencent’s WeChat. That Chinese app allows users to text and video chat, play games, share photos, order rides and food, and do banking and shopping.
