Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be released in two versions
Xiaomi is preparing to unveil a new flagship — Xiaomi 17 Ultra, according to insider reports. The device has already passed certification in China and will hit the market alongside a number of other models, including the Huawei Mate 70 Air, Mate 80 series, foldable Mate X7, Oppo Reno 15, Honor 500, Vivo S0, OnePlus Ace 6 and Redmi Turbo 5, according to renowned whistleblower Digital Chat Station.
According to the source, Xiaomi has registered two versions of the 17 Ultra at once with model numbers 2512BPNDAC and 25128PNA1C. Both versions will feature ultra-wideband (UWB) support, but the older version will additionally get Tiantong satellite connectivity and support for Beidou short messaging. This will allow users to stay in touch even in remote areas without cellular coverage, such as deserts or at sea.

Preliminary reports suggest that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will get a 6.8-inch flat OLED display with 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone will be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship processor. The device will be equipped with Xiaomi’s own Jinsha River high-capacity battery, support for wireless charging and IP68 water and dust resistance.
The main feature of the model will be the camera. It will include a 50-megapixel main sensor with a larger sensor size and built-in zoom technology, as well as a 200-megapixel telephoto periscope lens with multiple focal lengths and macro capability. According to the insider, Xiaomi has significantly improved the dynamic range and detail of the images in all lighting conditions.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to come in three colors — black, white and purple. The device is expected to debut before Chinese New Year. The starting price will be around 6,000 yuan (roughly $845).
